ECGI Membership Committee

The Membership Committee vets and approves applications for membership of the Institute.

Each week, new applications for academic, ordinary or institutional membership are sent to the Committee which is chaired by Antonio Borges, ECGI Chairman and comprises all members of the ECGI Board. Academic membership applications are scrutinised by the academic members of the ECGI Board. Institutional and ordinary membership applications are scrutinised by the non-academic members of the ECGI Board and Marco Becht, the Executive Director.

Once a membership application has been approved by the Committee, the Membership Secretary notifies the applicant in writing together with a copy of the Institute's latest credential pack.

Under the aegis of this Committee, ECGI membership has shown steady growth - see the statistics below.

A further 7 Academic members became Research members in September 2004

Membership is not confined to individuals or organisations residing in Europe. Currently, ECGI members come from 50 different countries.
