Dr Toshiaki Yamanaka

Stipendiary Lecturer
University of Tokyo

Dr. Yamanaka is currently serving as a stipendiary lecturer ('Project Lecturer') at the University of Tokyo. He obtained a Ph.D. (Doctor of Laws with a prize) on March 2016 from the same university.

His research interest includes; Comparative Corporate Law, Financial Law, and Financial Regulations.

He visited Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (Hamburg) for January to March 2017 and the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford for October 2014 to March 2016. He holds an M.P.A. (in Economic Policy Management) degree from Columbia University (New York, United States), Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo, and B.A. in Political Science from Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan).

He had been working for the Bank of Japan (Japan's Central Bank) for 6 years as an Economist and Corporate Analyst before enrolling in the Ph.D. program.
