Biography    
Yong-ki Kim gained a PhD in International Relations(International Political Economy) from the LSE in 2003. The thesis title was: Regulatory Institutions and Policy Choice: Explaining Financial Fragility in South Korea before the 1997 Crisis.

He has been Chief Researcher at Samsung Economic Research Institute since 2004. He was Financial Correspondent at Dong-A Ilbo, a national newspaper, between 2002 and 2004. He was also Reuter Journalist Fellew at Oxford between 1992 and 1993.

His areas of interest are: Comparative Corporate Governance, Financial Supervision and Regulatory Institutions, Globalization and State Autonomy.
